Pokémon Reveals New 30th Anniversary Release For August 7 That Will Sell Out Fast

Pokémon may have rung in its 30th anniversary back in February, but the franchise continues to celebrate throughout 2026. This has mostly been through merchandise, although a few games like Pokémon Champions have also launched this year. Even now, almost six months since February's Pokémon Presents, new merch is dropping to commemorate various Pokémon milestones and moments, most of which are tied to the series turning the big 3-0.

Most of that merchandise has also sold out quickly. Just recently, the preorders for 30 Celebration cards for the Pokémon Trading Ccard Game sold out almost instantly after going live at the Pokémon Center online storefront. Other items, like special editions of Pikachu, limited-edition plushes, and premium figures, have also not lasted long once they've gone up for sale. And now, another limited-edition release arrives on August 7, and Pokémon has thankfully given fans a bit of a heads-up this time.

Pokémon has always leaned into its collectible side. After all, gameplay is centered around capturing all the Pokémon you can, and the franchise's tagline is "Gotta catch 'em all!" So, it's no real surprise that products outside the video games and TCG are equally collectible....
