The Lord of the Rings is filled with weird, wonderful and downright frightening creatures that feature in varying capacities across the length of the story, but some really do stand out in a crowded field. The Balrog springs to mind immediately after its epic confrontation with Gandalf the Grey, but though it is likely the most powerful individual evil entity (outside Sauron), it probably isn't the most unsettling.
That infamy really feels like it goes to the Nazgul, or the nine fallen men to whom Sauron had given rings of power, before turning them into some of his most loyal servants. Much of that comes down to the appearance given to them by Peter Jackson, which is about to be immortalized in one of the most premium physical releases of the year.
Over on the Sideshow website, you can find the listing for the Nazgûl King Art Mask, a hyperrealistic 29" polyresin, glass, and silicone bust. Specifically, the mask comes with the appearance that Frodo sees when he puts the One Ring on, the true physical form that lies underneath all of those black robes.
