Twitch has issued an official apology to streamer SmaK after swiftly imposing the content creator a 30-day ban over a comment made during a livestream. The Twitch suspension elicited significant confusion not only from SmaK, but from other prominent creators on the platform.
As one of the biggest online streaming platforms, Twitch has not been afraid to bring down the ban hammer. The Amazon-owned platform's moderation includes multiple tiers of punishments for users committing different infractions, ranging from chat restrictions to full-on account bans for its most serious violations.
