In the wake of the release (and massive success) of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey in cinemas, gamers are flocking back to 2018's Assassin's Creed Odyssey in droves. While not necessarily every Assassin's Creed fan's favorite entry in the long-running series, the interest driven by The Odyssey has meant that the game is enjoying another player count burst.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey takes the franchise back to Ancient Greece, in one of the most stunning video game worlds ever created, even eight years later. Even among those who aren't massive fans of the game, its rendition of Ancient Greece is one area in which most agree it excels. Despite its positives, Assassin's Creed Odyssey faced some criticism for its RPG elements, which have always proven controversial among long-time fans of the series. This hasn't stopped the game from increasing in popularity on all platforms over the last few weeks.
