Amazon's God of War Planning to Recast More Major Characters for Season 2

According to a new report, Amazon's live-action God of War adaptation plans to recast Atreus and Thrud with older performers beginning in Season 2. As one of PlayStation's most recognizable franchises, God of War is in the midst of a live-action adaptation following the success of HBO's The Last of Us.

Amazon Prime Video has already given God of War a two-season order, allowing its creative team to plan beyond the show's initial batch of episodes. The adaptation will begin with the events of 2018's God of War, with Kratos and Atreus traveling to scatter Faye's ashes, after which Amazon has confirmed the series will closely follow the events of Ragnarok. However, Amazon's God of War has encountered a few issues, particularly with an injury and the recasting of the series' Kratos.

Plans for the God of War TV show currently center around adapting the Norse games, but they shouldn't come at the expense of the series' roots.
