Marvel’s New Deadpool Officially Debuts August 6

It is hard to believe that there was a time before Ryan Reynolds brought his cheeky charm to the role of Deadpool, but with the wisecracking mercenary first appearing way back in 1991's The New Mutants #98, the character has lived a lot of lives before Reynolds donned the mask back in 2009 during X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Going onto star in his own dedicated movies: Deadpool (2016), Deadpool 2 (2018), and, more recently, Deadpool & Wolverine (2024), the R-rated superhero has become a household name, and whilst the solo movies may have seemingly come to an end, Reynolds is not hanging up the suit just yet, with plans for Deadpool to appear in other upcoming Marvel projects.

Until then, however, it seems as though the story of Deadpool is set to continue, but this time, it will not be Reynolds at the helm but luckily, fans seem pleased with the brand-new casting.
