The announcement that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was getting a remake was understandably met with huge excitement from the community at large. The brief reveal was more than enough to set proverbial tongues wagging, even if we didn't get to see anything in the way of gameplay at this point.
In fact, we know very little at all about the approach Nintendo has taken to the game, only seeing Link for a few seconds lying in his bed before it cut to the title. That lack of concrete information has left a significant void open for fan speculation, particularly around the game's world, and it appears as though they are currently struggling to reach consensus.
Over on Reddit, one user shared a post featuring confirmation that the game was in production, and fans quickly got to talking about what the best approach would be for the game's world. Everything from fully open-world to a direct recreation of the original was suggested, and there were some solid reasons given for why a new approach might be the best course of action.
