Baldur's Gate 3 Cut Content Included Unique Areas For Wyll And Gortash

Baldur's Gate 3 is huge, but Larian had even more locations planned - and they could have had major story implications. Most significantly, Wyll was supposed to have an entirely unique area, and Gortash wasn't supposed to be introduced to us in the titular city of Baldur's Gate.

This comes from a report from PC Gamer, in which Larian sheds some light on Baldur's Gate 3's development. There's a quick overview of some of the locations that were cut during development, never making it into the final game.

For starters, Wyll was supposed to have his own area called the Red War College. I am admittedly not as knowledgeable on The Forgotten Realms lore as some, but it seems that this would have been a unique creation for the game, so it's unclear what this would have involved. However, it may have been attached to another quest for Wyll - something fans would have welcomed as some find the quest he did get a little lacklustre compared to other companions.

Larian boss Swen Vincke has hinted at this location in the past , saying it would have included a "big moment" for Wyll.
