1047 Games, the developer behind titles like Empulse and the Splitgate series, has announced that it is ending development of two of its games. The team has apologized for the move, but it seems that there was no other way forward for the Splitgate studio.

The Splitgate series has had a difficult time since the first game released, which was also the studio's very first game. Splitgate is an FPS inspired by Valve's Portal series, and combined combat compared to titles like Fortnite, but with portal mechanics. The game saw short-lived success when it launched its beta in 2021, but due to a sudden crush of players, its servers struggled to meet the demand. Since then, the developer has gone on to develop Splitgate 2 and new IP Empulse.

Gamescom's Opening Night Live revealed so many new games for 2026, 2027, and beyond, and these titles should be absolutely massive when they debut.
