PlayStation Releases New Official Comment on PS5 Exclusives and PC Ports

PlayStation is changing its marketing and advertising language to reflect its internal decision to stop producing PC/Steam ports of its PS5 games, quietly confirming reports from earlier this year that PlayStation PC ports were discontinued. Not only did most PlayStation games not perform particularly well on PC, but it is also believed that this actively harmed the branding and release of PS5 games (with some fans choosing to "wait" and/or downplaying the importance of PS5 hardware).

As such, fans can expect all future PS5 exclusive games to truly be exclusive to PS5 hardware. That includes, but is not limited to, games like Marvel's Wolverine, Saros, God of War Laufey, Astro Bot, and Ghost of Yotei, as well as any future, unannounced, and/or unreleased games. While PlayStation does not appear to be forthright with this comment, its silence on the matter can be taken as a comment in and of itself, especially in its framing of the most recent advert.
