Yesterday, dataminers uncovered and shared over 12 terabytes of internal builds and assets from Steam's old 2003 to 2013 storage, including early versions of Portal 2, Left 4 Dead, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, F-Stop, and even Half-Life 2: Episode Three. And while there's a lot of interesting and never-before-seen footage to unpack here, the internet being the internet, one thing keeps cropping up: GLaDOS thirst traps.
An early beta GLaDOS model was included among the leaks, showing a more obviously humanoid figure dangling from the ceiling. It's widely believed that her design was always meant to evoke the image of a woman bound against her will, though it has never been so obvious as this original model. Naturally, fans took the beta GLaDOS and rigged her to better match the, uh, curiosity core? And it's giving serious 'paint me like one of your French android' vibes.
"Portal 2 beta got leaked and seeing that GLaDOS model [...] like oh my gawdd," X user and animator @QuietTomato posted to over 20,000 likes.
And then there are fans like @hlbs4life with such tasteful posts as, "Who up jerki"—I think you can figure out where that one was going. And...
