Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 director Daniel Vávra has criticized the story presented in the latest Grand Theft Auto 6 showcase. The veteran writer and designer said the GTA 6 footage gave him "zero story hook," with his skepticism extending to the absence of longtime Rockstar writer Dan Houser.

Vávra's comments are directed at the so-called "Extended Look" at GTA 6, which premiered as a six-hour Netflix exclusive on August 27 before being reuploaded to Rockstar's website and social media channels. The 27-minute video provided the first official preview of GTA 6 gameplay, though it was not the first footage to surface publicly due to an individual or group known as CyberLeek, who had circulated over a dozen leaked gameplay clips throughout the second half of August 2026.
