In an interview with IGN at Evo 2024, Shuhei Matsumoto, who is serving as a producer for the upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics and who also served as a producer for Street Fighter 6, detailed some of the background on Year 2's guest fighters and the future for collaborations.
According to Matsumoto, Capcom was excited about the positivity from the community by the announcement. That said, it was a difficult feat to accomplish due to the unique style that Street Fighter has. But if the engagement post launch is high, then it might not spell the end for guests.
