Ubisoft's For Honor is officially ending support for multiple platforms on September 10. Almost 10 years after its initial release, For Honor players will lose support on two major platforms, bringing about the end of an era for the game.
In a recent Ranked FAQ, Ubisoft revealed that it is removing For Honor from Linux altogether, stating that it is doing so to "ensure a safer environment for our players as we cannot meaningfully deploy protection on this platform." This change will go ahead on September 10, 2026. Because it's unplayable on Linux, it will also be unplayable on the Steam Deck and SteamOS from this date. Given that the game plays pretty well on the Steam Deck, it's definitely a sad state of affairs for fans.

In the same announcement, Ubisoft confirmed that it will "continue to investigate different ways to improve our anti-cheat with the possibility of reopening the platform in the future," leaving the possibility of For Honor returning to Linux and Steam Deck/SteamOS open.
