It's been a long time coming, but the conclusion of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy is almost here.
During today's State of Play, we not only learned about the release date for Final Fantasy 7 Revelation (April 8th, 2027), but we also received news that a Trilogy Edition will be coming as well. Pre-orders will open for the Final Fantasy 7 Trilogy Edition, which will include a copy of Remake, Rebirth, and Revelation, later today.
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation also marks a first for the series. Not only will Revelation launch simultaneously on all consoles (Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S), but it will also be available on Windows the same day as consoles for the first time in franchise history.
Remake and Rebirth, formerly PlayStation exclusives, eventually made their way to other consoles, but there's likely a contingent of people who were waiting for the trilogy to be concluded before diving in. The Final Fantasy 7 Trilogy Edition gives them the chance to play through the entire trilogy without waiting. We'll see if this will result in increased sales following what Square Enix deemed a "disappointment" with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
