Speaking as a child of the 90s myself, I can say with confidence that anyone who grew up playing games on the original PlayStation probably also did their fair share of LEGO building. Games and bricks, that’s how we rolled back in the day, sometimes with both simultaneously in games like LEGO Racers. For those who grew up in those particular spheres, or just appreciate that flavor of nostalgia, Sony and LEGO are teaming up to offer you something very interesting.
As part of Sony’s newest State of Play presentation earlier today, the company announced its formal collaboration with LEGO to produce the official LEGO PlayStation kit. This newest kit is cast in the image of the original PlayStation console, and I’m talking original original here. As in, pre-DualShock controller, a period in time that I frequently forget even existed.
This mammoth LEGO set is scheduled to launch on the PlayStation online storefront on October 1, 2026.
