Keeper Shadow Drops on PS5 Following Split From XBOX

Keeper first made its debut on XBOX and PC in October 2025. It is an atmospheric puzzle adventure game in which players take control of a lighthouse that has been awakened and, joined by a spirited seabird, it goes on a heartwarming journey of an unlikely friendship. The story is told with the absence of words, as you traverse surreal realms in a world full of innovation and charm.

When Keeper launched, it did so to high acclaim from reviewers and players alike. On OpenCritic, the game has a top critic average of 81 and a player rating of 80. Much of its praise came from the stunning visuals, world-building, and the endearing message behind the game.

However, Double Fine Productions was one of the studios announced to be departing XBOX following the latest round of mass layoffs, becoming independent studios with their IP and catalog of games.

Ninja Theory and Undead Labs were also impacted and entered into terms to come under new ownership, with funding to complete Senua and State of Decay 3, respectively. An update on the future of Arkane Lyon, and its Marvel's Blade game that the studio has in development, is still pending.
