Mass Effect has always been, and likely always will be, played from a third-person point of view. It fits into BioWare's view of the RPG, a perspective that's as synonymous with the genre as slinging spells and clearing dungeons. Of course, that isn't to say that there can't be first-person RPGs (there are, after all, rather famous examples), as that would be ludicrous. Rather, it is merely to state that BioWare seems fairly set in its third-person ways, and that is perfectly fine.

However, for those who would love an RPG like Mass Effect but played from a first-person perspective to truly immerse oneself within its alien worlds, the choices are few and far between. Fortunately, there is a Mass Effect project that completely fixes this problem, as it takes the core experience and thrusts it into a first-person perspective. Everything you know and love about Mass Effect is present and accounted for, but this time, you'll get to see it all up-close-and-personal.

With Mass Effect's future looking precarious, it makes sense that fans would turn not just to the older games, but also find new ways of making them more enjoyable....
