The Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary was always going to be a big occasion, but up to the middle of the year, we'd heard very little from Nintendo about what they planned to do to mark it. That all changed with the announcement of the long-rumored Ocarina of Time Remake, which was initially pencilled for a release later this year.
Alongside a raft of officially licensed physical releases from third-party sellers, the tapestry quickly started to become quite an exciting one for longtime fans. That said, we haven't really seen anything of the game yet and that leaves everything open to speculation, but that's all seemingly about to change after an announcement from Nintendo confirmed we don't have long to wait at all.
Over on the official Twitter/X page for Nintendo in Japan, the company shared a post detailing exactly when fans will get a more complete look at what they have coming up in the Ocarina of Time Remake.
"Tomorrow, starting at 23:00 on September 8 (Tue), we will stream 'The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct 2026.9.8.'
