September 10, 2026, is going to be an extremely busy day for Borderlands fans, as Borderlands 4 launches two paid DLCs, a new Vault Hunter, a free update that adds new gear and raises the level cap, and more. Borderlands 4 was probably not the game that fans expected before release, as many hoped it would finally address the infamous war prophesied by The Watcher in The Pre-Sequel. This seems to be something for the next game, whenever it comes out, as BL4 further sets the stage for more universe-shaping events.
Borderlands 4 brought back Lilith, the iconic Siren who vanished at the end of the previous game. Lilith then walks into The Timekeeper's Vault with the player character, only to meet a Siren who could be an older version of Lilith herself, showing the same fiery wings as her and giving her an item called Deodand that she would "know when to use." It's no surprise that Lilith is basically the face of the franchise alongside Claptrap and the Bandits. Recently, a new Borderlands release made Lilith playable again, though not in Borderlands 4.
