The original developer of Life is Strange, Don't Nod Entertainment, is reportedly facing a dire financial situation that will likely change the studio dramatically. Despite the studio having a number of successes over the last decade, unfortunately, things aren't looking good for the Life is Strange creator right now.
Don't Nod Entertainment has produced some significant hits, but its most recent games have seen difficulties. Lost Records: Bloom and Rage was released in 2025, and saw fairly positive reviews overall, but by October, Don't Nod stated that the game had underperformed. Its most recent, Aphelion, released in 2026, received mixed reviews from critics and struggled considerably, seeing a concurrent user peak on Steam of just 219 people.
