Metal Gear Solid is in a bit of a tricky spot. Without series creator Hideo Kojima at the helm, Konami will struggle to release a completely brand-new entry. Yet, as great as remakes are, fans won't be satiated by them forever, and there are only so many games in the series that Konami can splash a fresh coat of paint on and charge $70 for. So, the studio and its fans have to get a little bit creative with the next release.
Fortunately, that's exactly what's happening, as a brand-new co-op Metal Gear Solid experience is on its way. Fans will finally be able to play a Metal Gear Solid game together for the first time in a while. It is obviously phenomenal news that Metal Gear Solid is returning with a brand-new release, but what will likely impress fans even more is that the experience will be given out for free with absolutely no strings attached.
