Resident Evil remakes have become as synonymous with the franchise as mainline installments. Indeed, Resident Evil's remakes have now branched out into their own unique continuity, with every new entry expanding the timeline and lore with details that either retcon the original games or flesh them out further.
Resident Evil Veronica is the next Resident Evil remake to be released. However, before then, fans have a big incentive to revisit Leon S. Kennedy's story and a seminal Jill Valentine story on the Nintendo Switch 2 this October.
Announced at today's September 2026 Nintendo Direct, the Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 remakes are being released on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16.
These editions all include these games' available DLC, with Resident Evil 2's Deluxe edition and Resident Evil 4's Gold edition, for instance. However, these Nintendo Switch 2 ports are only available digitally.
