The Legend of Zelda feels like it's transitioning to a whole new era as a franchise right now, as the 40th anniversary celebrations saw Nintendo confirm a bunch of details about upcoming releases. We got a much better look at the soon to be released Ocarina of Time as part of the recent Zelda Direct, and however you feel about what you saw, it's nice that the classic title is returning.
We also got a some more information about the upcoming movie, which is set for release on April 30, 2027, and now has an official title, which is hilariously just The Legend of Zelda. Shigeru Miyamoto says, "Once you see the film, you'll understand why it doesn't have a subtitle," so we'll just have to trust him on that one for now.
The only thing that remains really up in the air is what's to come next for the single-player series, but before we find out, we're going to have the chance to celebrate the most recent era in style.
