First released back in 2004, the Far Cry franchise by Ubisoft has been a constant companion of gamers over the past two decades. Now consisting of six mainline entries and plenty of spin-offs, the anthology FPS franchise, like many game series, has its strengths and weaknesses, with Far Cry New Dawn or Far Cry Vengeance receiving the most negative reviews upon launch.

However, when it comes to a favorite, many fans would give you one answer: Far Cry 3 and now, the 2012 title is set to make a major return, bringing it back into the limelight almost 15-years on from launch.

Taking place in an open-world tropical archipelago, Far Cry 3 follows the story of Jason Brody, a normal man who heads for a vacation in the area. However, he soon finds himself in charge of saving his friends after the group gets kidnapped by pirates.
