The Game of Thrones franchise is in a bit of a funny place right now, after the end of the main show left a bad taste in the collective mouths of fans. George RR Martin also doesn't seem to be making much progress with the next book in the series, so much so that many fans are now assuming that they will never get to read it at all.
The green shoots of hope are present though, with spin-off series A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon showing that the IP still has legs. On the gaming front, the upcoming strategy title War for Westeros could easily be one of the best games in the genre releasing in the next 12 months.
Outside of that, existing adaptations are still ticking along nicely as well, and one in particular is about to receive a major update that should refresh the experience for both new and returning players.
