Steam is abundant with free games. It is, on the one hand, a phenomenal resource for people unable to splash cash on exorbitantly priced video games to still enjoy the medium, including AAA-esque experiences with expansive open worlds teeming with things to do. On the other hand, the influx of free-to-play titles has become so overwhelming that one will inevitably become buried by the sheer crushing tide of available titles and likely struggle to pick one to play.
To make matters worse, not every free game on Steam is even worthwhile.
