It has been a surprisingly long time since Bayonetta last had a new adventure. Bayonetta 3 arrived in 2022 as the latest mainline entry in PlatinumGames' best action game series, bringing the witch's latest battle to Nintendo Switch after years of anticipation, and that was 8 years after the release of Bayonetta 2. The witch remains a recognizable character in the world of gaming, but no new mainline game has followed up on Bayonetta 3 so far.
