Brand-New Nintendo 64 Game Officially Announced

The Nintendo 64 may be nearly three decades old, but that has not stopped developers from creating new games for the iconic console. At the same time as Nintendo is bringing classics like Ocarina of Time to modern hardware, some fans are bringing modern titles to the classic system.

One of the latest of such projects attracting attention is Noah and the Poohloudies, an ambitious homebrew 3D platformer that is being developed for the original N64 alongside several other classic systems. Created by independent developer Walfrido Abejón, Noah and the Poohloudies is an unusual project because it is being designed to run across a wide range of aging hardware. The game is currently planned for the original PlayStation, N64, Sega Saturn, Dreamcast, 3DO, and Nokia N-Gage, with a PC version also in development.

At its heart, Noah and the Poohloudies is a 3D platforming adventure inspired by the games of the late 1990s, as showcased by the creator's Golden Age Turbo X account.
