The classic RTS franchise StarCraft has a brand-new game officially in the works, Blizzard has announced. The upcoming StarCraft game won't be like anything the franchise has seen before, and fans won't be able to play it for quite some time. However, over 15 years since the release of StarCraft 2, fans finally have confirmation that the franchise is not dead.
StarCraft originally released all the way back in 1998 as a pioneer in the sci-fi RTS genre. Although the original StarCraft was re-released as StarCraft Remastered in 2017, a brand-new entry in the franchise hasn't been seen since 2010's StarCraft 2. The final release for StarCraft 2 was the Legacy of the Void expansion in 2015, and with StarCraft Remastered, it's been nearly a decade since the franchise has received any new content.
Warcraft fans will officially be able to get their hands on a new Warcraft release in 2027, but it comes with a massive $400 price tag.
