The Walking Dead persists today, 23 years after Image Comics’ eponymous comic book series was first published, and its legacy is undeniable. The Walking Dead is as synonymous with zombies as Harry Potter is with magic, essentially, and may forever endure as one of the most seminal pieces of post-apocalyptic zombie storytelling across comics, TV shows, and video games.
But while AMC’s The Walking Dead TV series is probably the most popular outing that the IP has had (even more so than the comic, debatably), some of the best Walking Dead stories are ones that fans experience directly in Telltale’s The Walking Dead. Telltale as a studio has gone through a number of hurdles, to say the least, and it’s unknown if we can ever expect a new Walking Dead game on the same level again. Still, there may be something in store for fans to look forward to in the near future, according to a major leak.
