Inarguably, some of the greatest Pokémon games of all time are HeartGold and SoulSilver. These two remakes completely revamped the original Gold and Silver experience, delivering a series high with stunning visuals, enhanced gameplay, and a bevy of other quality-of-life features. They were the defining Pokémon DS games, and remain, to this day, the gold standard in many respects. They were also, aside from the original Gold and Silver, the only Pokémon games to feature two distinct regions in one: Johto and Kanto.
