Fortnite’s video game-themed Override season has coincided with its annual Fortnitemares event, resulting in some additional and appropriate crossovers being revealed this week. That overlap has, for some reason, also brought Jimothy, the viral raccoon, to Fortnite’s shores.
Jimothy went viral earlier this year after someone captured footage of the raccoon and shared it online. The world fell in love with Jimothy due to the raccoon’s unconventional shape. The Seattle native is almost ball-shaped, likely due to a spinal deformity.
While I’m rarely surprised by Fortnite crossovers nowadays, I was not expecting Jimothy to show up in the game. Not only does no one own the raccoon’s IP (I’d hope) due to the fact that it’s a wild animal, but it hasn’t even been three months since Jimothy took the internet by storm.
Yet here we are, heading into Halloween, and you can now have Jimothy join you on your Fortnite escapades. The raccoon has been added to the live service game as a sidekick. That means he isn’t technically player-controlled, but rather a little character that follows you around.
Not only is the Jimothy sidekick free, but it is relatively easy to unlock. You might not...
