Bungie knows it has lost the trust of its players, and the studio’s new leadership says it wants to change that. In a new update titled “The Next Chapter for Bungie,” Studio Head Poria Torkan and Head of Product and Marathon General Manager Josh Deane addressed the future of Bungie, Destiny, and Marathon, while also acknowledging that the studio lost sight of what mattered most: its players.

“We aren’t just listening to feedback, we understand your disappointment,” Bungie stated. “We are not asking you to trust what we say today.” Considering everything that’s happened at Bungie over the past few years, that’s probably the right way to approach this.

Now, I want to say that as someone who played the hell out of Destiny and Destiny 2, that I hope this happens. But I’m not as forgiving as the rest of the community is, and I can’t just suddenly do an about face, when I get news that “Hey, we’re sorry we did this and we’re back.” It’s not that I don’t want to be happy, but that frustration factor is going to take a bit of work on Bungie’s part to win me back.
