Canceled Hideo Kojima Game P.T. Is Making a Comeback

P.T. is making an unexpected comeback more than a decade after Hideo Kojima's infamous horror teaser disappeared from the PlayStation Store, as a fan developer rebuilds it as a native PC port. The project could give P.T. a new lease on life while staying much closer to the original PS4 release than the many fan remakes that followed.

Released unexpectedly on PS4 in August 2014, P.T. initially hid its true identity behind the fictional 7780s Studio name but quickly became a sensation in the horror gaming world. Famously, players who finally solved its notoriously obscure puzzles were treated to a final sequence revealing that the short horror game was actually a playable teaser for Silent Hills, a new entry involving Metal Gear Solid's Hideo Kojima, filmmaker Guillermo del Toro, and Norman Reedus. Unfortunately, Konami canceled Silent Hills in 2015 as Kojima's relationship with the publisher fell apart, subsequently removing P.T. from the PlayStation Store and eventually making it impossible to redownload, even for players who had previously claimed it.

Three years since its announcement, Hideo Kojima and Jordan Peele's horror game OD is still nowhere to be seen, but there is some good news at least.
