Rockstar Games has spent years pushing its open worlds toward greater levels of detail, and GTA 6 looks set to continue that trend in a major way. The fictional state of Leonida is Rockstar's take on Florida, so its world needs to account for more than just busy streets, beaches, swamps, and crowded cities. Florida's wildlife is a major part of its identity, and GTA 6 seems ready to embrace some of that ecosystem's stranger parts.
The wildlife of GTA 6 will also give Rockstar another opportunity to build on technology developed during the Red Dead Redemption series. Red Dead Redemption 2 was already known for its detailed animal behavior and huge variety of creatures, with wildlife playing an important role in exploration and hunting. Leonida gives Rockstar an entirely different environment to work with, though, one where animals can live across land, air, and water in an ecosystem inspired by the real-world state.
Grand Theft Auto 6 has already confirmed several new vehicles as well as some of those returning from past entries across the game's two trailers.
GTA 6 will feature more than 170 animal species throughout Leonida, as confirmed in a recent interview with Game Informer....
