Forza Horizon Will Have a Competitor Soon, and They're More Related Than You Think

In 2022, former Playground Games co-founder and studio head Gavin Reaburn helped form Lighthouse Games. Their goal? Develop a "disruptive" driving game.

Several years later, that goal appears to be one step closer to coming true.

A new trademark filing has been spotted by Insider-Gaming with the names "Ignition: Drive the World" and "Wonderland: Drive The World." This isn't the first time "Drive The World" has been trademarked; Lighthouse went through this process back in 2024.

This could all be leading to, and I'm spitballing here, an upcoming reveal at, perhaps, The Game Awards later this year. This wouldn't be the first time Geoff Keighely's major showcase has introduced a new game from a developer whose left a major studio to make it on his own. To be fair, that hasn't always worked out well, but it doesn't get more high profile than The Game Awards.
