Right now, Magic: The Gathering seems unstoppable. Between the droves of licensed sets in the Universes Beyond line and the original works from Wizards, fans still go out to buy them.

That said, there is a constant push and pull between Wizards and their fans, mostly stemming from the fact that it's a collectible card game, which is always going to be a point of contention with some. Some of that contention might come to a head soon, given major changes coming to Magic in 2027.

Thanks to official confirmation from Wizards of the Coast, we know exactly how God Packs will return to the game [via Polygon].

Once Nauctis: The Sunken Realm hits in 2027, it'll be the year's first set. It's also the first set in a long while to see major changes to Play Boosters and collector Boosters. God Packs will be coming to "every Magic Multiverse set," which Wizards describes as "an epic, rare Booster where every nonbasic card is a rare or mythic rare card."
