Sakurai Has Made Super Smash Bros. Real With Video Game Icon Gathering

Much like the old meme about Ron Paul making anime real, Masahiro Sakurai has pulled off a real life version of Super Smash Bros., bringing together the creators of some of the best video games of all time, including Undertale, Shadow of the Colossus, and the Resident Evil franchise.

Now that Kirby Air Riders is available for the Nintendo Switch 2, fans are wondering what Masahiro Sakurai is working on next. It's entirely possible that he has entered retirement, considering his long and illustrious career, one that produced Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, arguably the greatest video game crossover of all time. Sakurai hasn't suggested that he's done, however, and there could be more in the pipeline from the famed director.

It seems Sakurai is cooking up something bigger than anyone realized. According to a post on the Sora_Sakurai Twitter/X account, he has gathered a group of the greatest minds in video game history, directly comparing them to the Avengers. Thankfully, the Chitauri aren't real, as the video game Avengers probably wouldn't be very good at fighting them, except maybe in Twitter spats.
