New Overwatch Update Completely Reworks Sombra and Roadhog

Alongside the launch of Season 5, Blizzard released a major new patch for Overwatch which adds new content, the latest playable character known as Doctrine, and massive reworks to 2 core characters. Season 5 is bringing plenty of changes to Overwatch, including the full reworks for both Sombra and Roadhog. In addition, fans will have tons of new content to dig into as well, including a brand-new support hero named Doctrine.

While it isn't a surprise at this point considering the advanced warning from Blizzard, this update finally brings massive reworks to both Sombra and Roadhog in Overwatch 2. For Sombra, she moves from the Recon Damage role and into Tactical Support, which has her Hack ability removed from her kit completely. Instead, Sombra will be able to debuff enemies using Cyberspace by inflicting Weaken, which cuts their damage and healing output in half. She can also heal allies using the Hotfix ability, which continues to allow her to hack health packs and most enemy deployables.

In terms of Roadhog, his transformation isn't quite as dramatic as Sombra. For one, he's still a tank, but Blizzard's changes will likely force players to think a bit differently when using him....
