New Switch 2 Game Has Serious Pokemon Vibes

The creature-collecting genre has always had a pretty simple appeal: find a cool creature, figure out what makes it strong, and spend time turning it into something capable of taking on tougher opponents. Pokemon helped make that formula one of gaming's biggest, but plenty of other games have taken the idea in different directions over the years—across all platforms like the Nintendo Switch 2. Some focus more on collecting, while others put more emphasis on training, strategy, or the relationship between a player and their creatures. Others leverage the hardware like the Nintendo Switch 2 more than others.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has built up an interesting selection of games outside of Nintendo's biggest first-party releases. The system has already become home to upgraded versions of existing games, new releases, and smaller projects that can easily get overlooked next to the platform's biggest names. One upcoming Switch 2 release, however, could be worth watching for anyone who enjoys raising monsters and building a team around their strengths (especially Pokemon fans looking for something a little different).
