Mass Effect: Legendary Edition Quietly Getting Tons of New Content in 2026

Mass Effect may be waiting on its next big official chapter, but Commander Shepard's trilogy is still getting plenty of attention from the community. BioWare's original Mass Effect trilogy remains one of the most replayable RPG experiences around, and Mass Effect: Legendary Edition gave players a modern way to experience all three games together.

In my review of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, I wrote that the title advertised itself as "taking the already-popular trilogy, bringing it to modern consoles, and giving it smart improvements. There's a lot that it does to improve the games without detracting from the core experience, and that says something...It's hard to imagine making the original trilogy any better, but these remasters definitely make them much more current." And arguably, the community-driven mods have gone a long way in actually, if quetly making the OG trilogy content better.
