Horror game fans have had a busy 2026, and soon they will have even more games to play. One of the biggest new game releases of the entire year belongs to the horror genre, with Resident Evil Requiem hitting the scene this past February to rave reviews from critics. Resident Evil Requiem is on many's shortlist for Game of the Year, and for good reason, and by itself has ensured that 2026 has been a strong one for fans of the horror genre.
Resident Evil Requiem may be the biggest new horror game that released in 2026, but it's certainly not the only one. Silent Hill: Townfall recently released to strong reviews as well, and the Halloween video game has gone viral for its wild multiplayer antics. The Sinking City 2 proved to be a massive improvement over its predecessor, and Crisol: Theater of Idols was one of the more intriguing indie horrors to hit the market. Soon horror game fans will have even more to check out, thanks to a pair of titles that are releasing on Thursday, October 8.
