The developer behind Reytrieve Odyssey is Egor Poskriakov, a solo developer who also works as an environment concept artist. On Twitter, Poskriakov was asked about the inspirations behind their indie game. And they replied, "I guess A Hat in Time. Mario and Sonic, and... NieR."
