Helldivers 2 Finally Gets Anti-Tank Mines, And They're Kind Of Rubbish

If you've been playing Helldivers 2 for a while, you'll probably be aware of the running joke surrounding the recently released MD-17 Anti-Tank Mines stratagem. Arrowhead has been trying to give these things away for a while now, as every time players have been given the choice between them and something else, something else always won out.

In April, fans were given the choice between the mines and the RL-77 Airburst Rocket Launcher (no prizes for guessing which won), while Arrowhead tried to give them away again in May if players killed 2 billion Automatons. Of course, they failed miserably, forcing Arrowhead to give players the choice between the mines and a bunch of imaginary children in June, only for the children to win the vote, cementing the stratagem as a meme among the community.

Well, it seems as though Arrowhead finally had enough of the community dodging the mines they had worked so hard on, as the game's latest Major Order tasked them with killing 1.5 billion enemies. If they failed, they'd have the mines forced upon them, and there was only one outcome of that Major Order considering Arrowhead gave players a four-day deadline. That...
