According to a recent leak, the Watch Dogs franchise could be making a comeback in 2027 with a new, albeit familiar entry. This new, rumored Watch Dogs release is said to be a 'Director's Cut' of Watch Dogs: Legion, the third entry in the action-adventure hacking-focused series.
The first entry in Ubisoft's Watch Dogs series will always live in infamy, with its original E3 2012 reveal trailer boasting much more impressive visuals than the finished product released two years later. Despite the noticeable gap in technical prowess between reveal and launch, the first Watch Dogs earned a favorable critical reception and went on to sell 10 million copies by the end of 2014. This success spawned a direct follow-up in 2016, which itself earned a warm critical and commercial reception. The same can't be said, however, for Watch Dogs' third and final entry.
