Kingdom Hearts is a series that's as beloved and critically acclaimed as it is nearly impenetrable. With numerous entries scattered across multiple platforms, each dishing out a sliver of its already immensely complex narrative that itself adheres to lore so convoluted one can only imagine how manic the continuity board must look at Square Enix headquarters, it is a wonder that anyone manages to discover the series at all in this day and age.
Of course, they do, either through newly released Kingdom Hearts games or by simply rediscovering the original titles, games so unbelievably good that they ooze with creativity and charm. However, eventually, one will likely hit a breaking point, if only because there are key Kingdom Hearts games that have been lost to time, experiences that hold important information required to understand the unfolding saga and yet have been rendered largely unplayable. Fortunately, in an attempt to make understanding Kingdom Hearts a tad easier, one of these lost entries has finally been saved from the abyss and made playable for all.
With Kingdom Hearts 4's release date looming on the horizon, it is no surprise that newcomers to the series would want to finally hop on board...
