Resident Evil 3 comes to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16, and Capcom has revealed footage of the game running on the system ahead of launch. A remake of the similarly titled 1999 game, Resident Evil 3 was released on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in 2020. Nintendo fans weren't completely forgotten, as the game received a cloud version on the original Switch in 2022. Cloud versions of games allowed fans to experience titles that otherwise might be too powerful to play on Switch, but with the caveat that players must be in an area with a stable internet connection.
Following the release of Nintendo Switch 2, Capcom has made it a priority to bring several Resident Evil games to the system natively. This means players don't have to worry about an internet connection after the initial download. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil Village launched on the system earlier this year, alongside Resident Evil Requiem. Three Resident Evil games are coming to Switch 2 on October 16 — Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 —and will include all previously released DLC, as well.
