Palworld, developed by Pocket Pair Inc., is a survival game with creature-tamer mechanics that achieved massive acclaim almost instantly. Despite the initial success, the company's CEO, Takuro Mizobe, recently stated in an interview for Game Spark that he'd rather stick with the indie model.

"I think other companies may be making similar changes, but for us, rather than expanding our scale or increasing our staff, we're thinking about how far we can go on an indie scale," stated Mizobe.

Truth be told, by earning a whopping $70 million so far, Pocket Pair can easily scale up its operations. However, this would go against the company's philosophy.

Mizobe added, "I want to pursue something that I think is interesting as an indie game, and although it's good to have a large budget, I can't spend a budget that is beyond my means."

Right now, the company is focusing on improving its merchandising and licensing. They're working with Sony to increase their reach and improve secondary activities.
