Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse clearly loves Alucard as much as the rest of us, as the iconic dhampir is referenced constantly throughout the game.
If you ask anyone what the best Castlevania game of all time is, it’s incredibly likely that they’ll (correctly) say Symphony of the Night. After all, it’s where the brilliant 2D exploration vibes first emerged and not only shaped the rest of the series, but ended up inspiring a whole new genre of games. It’s really that good.
SOTN also let us play as Alucard for the first time, which quickly launched Dracula’s son into the stratosphere as one of the most beloved characters in the whole series. Whether they’re your favourite or not, Symphony of the Night and Alucard are both some of the most important pieces of Castlevania’s history, something Belmont’s Curse celebrates with tons of easter eggs.
The first time you’ll see just how much love Belmont’s Curse has for Alucard is when you reach Dracula’s Castle early on in Rose’s quest. If you head over to the Main Hall, you’ll see portraits of Alucard adorning the wall, recreating his look and even pose from the key art of Symphony of the Night....
